This accomplishment, achieved despite a complex and uncertain competitive environment, illustrates consumer confidence in GDF SUEZ. This success also demonstrates their recognition of GDF SUEZ as leading energy supplier (electricity and gas). The Group also supplies natural gas to 10 million customers in France.
By switching to GDF SUEZ, consumers in France have chosen a recognized, strong and emblematic brand: DolceVita. They have also chosen an original, innovative and competitive electricity offering: the market price offer fixed for a period of one or two years.
With this offer, customers enjoy:
• a competitive price, at the same level as the current regulated electricity rate;
• a fixed price for the entire term of the contract (one or two years); neither the subscription price nor the price per kilowatt hour will increase during that period. As a consequence, customers pay the same price throughout their contract, even if the regulated rate increases.
Backed by its results, GDF SUEZ intends to increase its electricity customer base by 50% by the end of 2012 to a total of 1.5 million.
For information, the retail energy market in France has been open since 2007, when the Group added an electricity offer to its natural gas offer.
