The Prescott Chapter of Business Networking International (BNI) will be holding a Visitors’ Day Breakfast on Thursday, September 29th for local business owners and professionals. Breakfast will be served at the local JB’s Restaurant, 1125 East Sheldon Street in Prescott, from 7:00 to 8:30 am.
The purpose of this gathering is to meet and network with fellow business people looking for ways in which to grow their business. The Prescott chapter of BNI was, for many years, the largest (up to 45 members) networking group in the community, and boasted superior business growth through networking for its many members. Now, membership is down and the current members are looking for serious people truly interested in tackling what has been considered a grim economic outlook for local companies.
“BNI referrals have over many years now, been the primary source of new patients for me.” stated Dr. Alex Carr, Chapter President. “Even with so many long-time local businesses closing and companies suffering declining sales, members of BNI continue to bring in referral business for fellow members.”
The Visitors’ Day Breakfast will feature a presentation by Dr. Carr and include details on how the organization functions. “Part of the major success of BNI is the fact that it is a very structured, established organization with a time-honored, proven method of operation.” said Chapter Vice President, Dr. Kate Sage, N.D. of Sage’s Healing Center. “I know many networking groups do not have the recognized track record of success that BNI does, in part because they do not have the backing and support of a huge, established entity. The available educational materials alone are incredible!”
BNI (bni.com) is the largest business networking organization in the world, and has been in existence for over 25 years. Not only does BNI offer businesses referrals, but it affords members the opportunity for invaluable marketing education, the sharing of ideas and contacts, and tools to help them grow their businesses, both in and out of the organizational sphere. In 2010, worldwide members exchanged over 6.2 million referrals, generating over $2.6 billion in business for each other. The Wall Street Journal was recently quoted as saying,"With many small businesses scrambling to weather the recession, the networking business is thriving...Business people realize that in this tough economy they’ve got to do some extra things." BNI is at the forefront of this movement.
BNI only allows one member per profession to join a chapter. Unlike many other networking groups, members do not see their competition as a member in their own chapter.
Interested professionals are asked to R.S.V.P. by September 22, 2011 to reserve their spot. Cost is $8 and includes breakfast. Attendees are encouraged to bring 100 business cards and any colleagues interested in the group. “And plan on picking up new business while you’re there!” added member, Jerry Cecil, Nextage Realty Professionals.
