Communication Enhancement Products (CEP) today announced that the Royalty FREE Program is now open to any developer looking to incorporate Smashtalk technology into their application. Unlike the royalty fees many large companies charge for access to patent-pending technology, access to Smashtalk technology is now available at no cost to qualified developers.
Smashtalk (smashtalk.net) is the patent-pending technology that allows text messaging users to be able to send text messages via normal Short Message Service (SMS) and include the complete list of recipients along with the message. Unlike traditional text messages in which the recipient can only respond to the sender, Smashtalk allows the text message recipient to respond to all of the original recipients of the text message.
“The Royalty FREE Program is designed to lower the barriers between software developers and the text-sending consumers,” said Mark Ryan, CEP founder and president. “Smashtalk-based applications appeal to the consumer because it is simply an extension of the texting process they already know and appeals to the carriers as it drives text message usage”
Supplied Software Tools
All approved developers are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement as well as a license agreement as a requirement of joining the program. Approved developers will receive a Python-developed application for use as an example of how to implement Smashtalk into an existing application as well as a copy of the key parts of the Smashtalk patent filing that details the inner workings of Smashtalk. Developer support will be available on a chargeable, hourly rate.
Availability
The Royalty FREE Program is open now for any interested developer. Software vendors and hardware vendors are encouraged to join the program and add Smashtalk functionality to their products.
