James Caan, from BBC2’s Dragons Den, and three leading figures in the residential property market, including billionaire developer Nick Candy, will judge and consider investing in new property ideas at RESI Dragons Den on 15 September. RESI is the leading annual conference for those in the residential property and house building markets, taking place from 15 to 16 September at the Celtic Manor resort, Newport.
RESI Dragons Den today calls for innovative investment proposals and business ideas related to improving the residential market. Entry to the competition closes on 31 July, further details at resievent.com/dragons.
Up to five shortlisted delegates will have the chance to pitch their ideas in a four-minute verbal presentation in front of the panel and an expected audience of 900, to be followed by the infamous judge’s questions.
Other judges include Tony Pidgley, chair at the Berkeley Group and Bruce Ritchie, CEO and founder at Residential Land. They will join Dragons James Caan and Nick Candy, CEO and founder at Candy & Candy, the interior design and development management company behind some of the world’s most expensive homes, including One Hyde Park.
Nick Candy commented: “RESI is a great chance for industry peers to come together and examine the latest developments in the industry and look ahead to the coming months. The interest received so far in the Dragons Den session proves that the market is still passionate about new ideas for developments. We have a great panel and we're all eager to hear from the competitors on the day."
Bruce Ritchie, CEO and founder of Residential Land added: “This is your opportunity to pitch to four big players in the residential market. You never know, you might win in or even get the chance to partner with one of the Dragons!”
“I look forward to seeing some interesting and innovative opportunities in what I hope to be one of the highlights of the RESI event this year and in years to come,” Ritchie said.
The Dragons Den winners, including the audience favourite, will be announced at the RESI annual dinner, taking place on Thursday 15 September.
Over 830 delegates attended RESI 2010 with this year’s conference providing key market insight into areas including working in partnership for the future of house building, at an important time to the future of the housing market.
