Montefiore is a founding member of the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY), and its ClinCard adoption was facilitated by the strategic partnership between Greenphire and BRANY to extend the ClinCard System across BRANY’s network of clinical research sites. Founded in 1884, Montefiore has grown to become one of the largest healthcare systems in the nation, serving over two million individuals in the Bronx and New York’s Westchester County. Operating a network including three primary campuses and over 100 ambulatory locations, Montefiore has been ranked by US News & World Report as one of America’s Best Children’s Hospitals since 2008.
Enhancing the clinical experience for patients, site staff, and investigators drove the decision to move from a manual check-based payment system to the ClinCard’s web-based portal. Montefiore’s Director of Clinical Trials Dr. Barrett Katz stated,“We’re most sanguine about acquiring Greenphire’s ClinCard. It will help us eliminate waits and delays in transferring dollars to our patients and covering their travel and meal costs. We believe this will work to improve the efficiency and the success of our new office of clinical trials and make this a very user-friendly place for clinicians to do clinical research.”
The new relationship between Greenphire and Montefiore also earned the endorsement of BRANY’s Director of Sales and Business Development, Carmela Houston-Henry, who commented,“BRANY’s partnership with Greenphire (greenphire.com) is a natural extension of our suite of services to our alliance members. Our members benefit from efficiency in managing their study budgets, and study participants receive expedited stipend payments.”
Montefiore’s ClinCard adoption also marks a significant milestone for Greenphire. As the ClinCard’s 100th site or university client, Montefiore joins a large and established base of sites and more than 20 sponsors and CROs in realizing the ClinCard’s benefits to the clinical trials process. By automating patient stipend payments, reimbursements, and communication through a web-based portal, Greenphire’s innovative technologies enhance the patient experience and improve patient retention, reduce administration associated with patient payments and communication for both site and sponsor users, and centralize reporting, tracking, and auditing of stipends and reimbursements.
