This largest European Can-Am Spyder roadster community event was held at the "Lariofiere" congress centre in Erba (Lombardy), where participants enjoyed a number of activities on site, explored the newest BRP products and met other Spyder roadster enthusiasts.
During this two-day event, participants could test their ATV riding skills on a specially designed Can-Am track and test-drive the newest Can-Am Spyder roadster models. There were also the extreme freestyle sessions, daring tricks and jumps, performed by the Ski & Sea Team riding BRP products and an electric karting circuit. One of the highlights of the event was the roadster Spyder Parade, a community ride where all 328 Spyder roadsters drove off together exploring the beautiful landscapes of Lombardy and Lake Como.
"During our successful inaugural event last year in Austria, we felt we were starting a tradition. This year, we moved even closer to making this event a tradition for many years to come,"said Bernard Leblanc, vice-president & regional general manager – Western Europe, Middle-East and Africa."It was fantastic to see so many enthusiasts on site celebrating their passion for the Can-Am Spyder roadster."
There were several awards given during the gala dinner, including the "Longest Distance to Erba" award given to Konstantin Voloshin, who made a trip of 10,800 km coming from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia via St. Petersburg. Claude Derail from France won the "Best Customised Spyder roadster Award", with his Avatar-inspired Spyder roadster. German participant Harald Gardeweg was the first to register for the event, even before the registration website was live, and was rewarded for his commitment. Two Celebration Awards were also given to Iana Shusharina and Tatiana Firsova for their dedication as female riders coming all the way from Russia on their Can-Am Spyder roadsters.
The much-appreciated Can-Am Spyder hybrid advanced concept was presented during the gala dinner. This plug-in hybrid electric vehicle will be developed over the next four years by the CTA (Advanced Technology Centre, a partnership between BRP and Sherbrooke University). The development of hybrid technology will represent another milestone on BRP's road map toward eco-performing vehicles.
