LinkShare today announced the speakers for its yearly Symposium East event that will take place on June 27-28, 2011 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
The annual conference attracts more than 500 of the industry’s leading advertisers, publishers and outsourced program management (OPM) agencies. As part of the LinkShare performance marketing network, many advertisers and publishers are outpacing overall e-commerce growth as they find new customers and revenue opportunities. According to Forrester Research, e-commerce is expected to grow at a compound growth rate of ten percent between 2010-2015 while the LinkShare Network is growing thirty seven percent year year-over-year.
Kicking off the event, keynote speaker Vikram Sehgal will discuss the forecast for online retail. As Vice President and Research Director at Forrester Research, Sehgal will share insight on the fastest growing online product categories and market opportunities and how online advertisers can take advantage of these opportunities. Adding another dimension to the event, Wharton Professor Stuart Diamond’s keynote session titled,“Getting More: How You Can Negotiate to Succeed in Work and Life” will offer attendees tips on negotiating prior to the main networking portion of the day.
LinkShare also announced the finalists for the 9th annual LinkShare Golden Link Awards celebrating this year’s strongest and most innovative performers in the LinkShare network. Awards will be presented in 14 categories including innovative advertiser and publisher of the year, best mobile strategy, and best social media strategy.
“According to Karmaloop, a Golden Link award nominee in the innovation category,“The LinkShare Network is an essential part of our strategy to grow sales and this nomination highlights the tremendous value we place on publisher relationships and our on-going investment in the channel,” said Natasha Chu, Director of E-Commerce and Digital Marketing, Karmaloop.com.
During the event, advertisers and publishers will also learn about the future direction of LinkShare while having the opportunity to meet with other network members to plan online campaigns and strategies during the popular DealMaker session.
“We understand that face-to-face meetings play a critical role in driving sales, which further explains why attendance has increased at Symposium East yet again,” said Yaz Iida, chief executive officer and president of LinkShare. “The great brands, innovation, and partnerships that will be on display are symbolic of the strong growth we’re seeing in the industry and in the LinkShare network.”
LinkShare is the only major performance marketing network to hold a large scale event twice a year (East and West). Symposium East 2011 will close with an after party at Inside Park at St. Barts. View the complete agenda.
