London, United Kingdom, 2011/02/18 - WYGU, the social network for careers guidance, development and mentoring, has today completed a comprehensive partnership deal with UK-based Student and Graduate Publishing (S&GP).

The partnership provides a base for joint promotion of WYGU and S&PG’s magazines, which include the student and graduate focused Loud!, FullOn and GradMag.
The partners will cross-promote through their websites and magazine publications as well as developing new ideas for online content and strategies focusing on the promotion and delivery of careers advice.
WYGU will also share office space with S&GP in London as it extends and deepens the community management of the WYGU platform.
WYGU is a rapidly growing free social network platform that delivers social careers guidance, development and a mentoring platform. It is designed to help people find their perfect career, or develop their current career focuses, at zero cost. It is about empowering people to succeed in jobs that are fulfilling rather than accidental, and the community WYGU is building is helping to make that happen.
After signing up at WYGU, users build their profile based around their education and professional experience, in effect creating an online CV. They can then complete their 'Skills Profile' and harness WYGU’s revolutionary career matching engine to create their 'career DNA'. This unique system assesses candidates against over a million variables 'in flight', enabling them to see what careers they're best suited to, or what they should work on to achieve their goals.
They can then request a mentor from their field, or browse the WYGUpedia - the world’s largest careers and education wiki which allows users to review companies and institutions; all linked to their skills profile. Additionally the career matching engine has an inbuilt self-learning mechanism in that the target match is within the WYGUpedia. WYGU users (wygu.com) can constantly fine tune the data to achieve ever-improving results.
Full On! is an interactive student webmag that aims to encourage students to continue with their education post 16. It is endorsed by the DfES, Connexions and Aimhigher (listed as an official resource) and contains articles to encourage students to pursue higher education and information about vocational and academic routes.
Loud! is a university and careers magazine targeted at 16 -19-year-olds, distributed as a web magazine to named careers coordinators in every college and 6th form school in England and Wales. The webmag is received by every student via the schools’ and colleges’ Fronter systems. This means Loud! can be viewed by every 16-19 year old student. The magazine is also printed and distributed to all colleges and Connexions centres.
The magazine aims to encourage students to stay in education and training beyond the age of 18. Content is student driven and combines features on education and careers with music, games, teen issues, fashion and sport. It was set up as a result of the success of Full On! magazine.
GradMag is a high quality, printed and digital magazine targeted at recent graduates and final year students. The magazine is received by students in their last year at university as well as recent graduates. It highlights career and postgraduate opportunities and distribution is international.
Alun Baker, CEO and Founder, WYGU comments: “Our goals clearly match those of S&GP in many ways and we’re looking forward to working closely with them as both companies grow rapidly this year. WYGU has been developed to help people find the career they really want by connecting individuals who need advice with those able to give it.”

Both companies aim to provide young people with access to opportunities and advice to advance their career prospects. Both companies are providing an essential service to young people at a time when it’s needed the most.”
