Just before the Chinese New Year festivities come to a close, ACCA took the opportunity to celebrate a traditional “Lo Hei” lunch with the Big 4 accounting firms. The lunch provided a platform for ACCA to foster closer ties with these organizations who together employ around 500 ACCA members and students a year.

As the war for talent persists, ACCA (accaglobal.com) continues to support employers such as the Big 4 through a range of activities from joint-scholarship awards to research to industry visits for ACCA students. Currently there are about 20,000 ACCA students under the ACCA/ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme (JES) which represents more than 80% of all students studying for professional accountancy exams in Singapore. Every year, under this JES, ACCA generates around 700-800 graduates or almost half the total number of accountancy graduates in Singapore. This high volume of ACCA graduates ensures that Singapore’s economy is well supplied with professional accountants, amidst the current shortage of accountants in Singapore.
