London, United Kingdom, 2011/02/10 - Tamar, the UK's award-winning social and search agency, has announced two new board appointments from internal positions.

The senior moves strengthen Tamar’s already experienced board, which is driving the agency’s continued growth since its launch in 1995.
Colin Smith has been promoted to Client Services Director, heading Tamar's client delivery team which integrates search, social media, analytics and mobile functions. Colin is responsible for the seamless delivery of integrated client campaigns and for ensuring Tamar is delivering proven value to clients.
Prior to this role, Colin led Tamar's analytics team in providing insightful quantitative analysis to support SEO and social campaigns. Colin is a respected and experienced digital professional with a 15-year proven track record across public and private sectors for organisations such as Tesco and direct.gov.
Nicky Rogers has been promoted to Talent and Operations Director, and is responsible for developing the human resource of Tamar's international teams and for ensuring the smooth operation of all internal support departments.
Nicky looks after existing talent, managing training and development activity across all departments as well as bringing in new members of the team. She has been at Tamar for over seven years and has worked in a variety of roles, starting in web architecture and development and, immediately prior to her existing position, leading the team in South Africa as Head of Operations SA.
All promotions are effective immediately.
The two new board appointments confirm Tamar’s approach of developing the highest-quality people internally, and combining this with external experience to offer a balanced and visionary board team. This approach is evidenced by Tamar’s focus on the delivery of crucial digital marketing services ahead of the curve, such as Social Media. Tamar launched its Social Media division in 2007, and has been delivering successful combined Search and Social campaigns for its clients since then.
Tanya Goodin, CEO at Tamar, commented: “It is always an exciting time to bring new insight onto the board team, and in Nicky and Colin we have two experienced operators that offer unrivalled knowledge in terms of how Tamar operates and how the market is evolving.
“We continue to set ourselves aggressive growth targets to match our success to date, and an essential part of this winning formula has been to continually invite fresh opinion onto the board to achieve our aims.”
