Looking to spice up the palates of hungry patrons with a love for great tasting chicken wings, Wingstop Restaurants, Inc. opened its first Glendale location on Tuesday, June 7.
Jacqui Brewer and Tracy Henry, owners of JT Wing 1, opened the location in the Heatherwood Plaza at 5833 W. Thunderbird Road.
“We are excited about opening this location because Wingstop is a fun concept,” Henry said. “We anticipate success here similar to what we experienced in Dallas because Wingstop appeals to people across the board.”
Brewer and Henry ate at the original Wingstop location on Northwest Highway in Dallas every Friday night when it opened. When the company decided to franchise, Brewer and Henry wanted to be a part of it, opening two locations in Dallas.
The new location in Glendale is the first in the Phoenix area. Brewer and Henry are ready to begin construction on three more locations, and plan to open 11 total in the Phoenix area.
Wingstops are open from 11 a.m. to midnight seven days per week. Orders can be phoned in to the new location at (602) 439-9464.
The chain offers restaurants with a nostalgic, aviation-themed atmosphere where the sole focus is on chicken wings. Wingstop features nine proprietary wing flavors, including Original Hot, Cajun, Atomic, Mild, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper, Hawaiian, Garlic Parmesan, and our brand new Hickory Smoked BBQ. The wings are always made-to-order and served steaming-hot. Customers also choose from homemade side dishes: fresh-cut seasoned fries, bourbon baked beans, pearl potato salad, creamy cole slaw, vegetable sticks, rolls and assorted dipping sauces.
Wingstop has over 400 restaurants either open or under development in 25 states and consistently tops industry growth rankings. This July, Wingstop was ranked number four in Restaurants & Institutions’ ‘Top 400 Sales-Growth Leaders’ (the only wing chain in the top ten). Also in July, Wingstop ranked number seven in Restaurant Business’ ‘Top 50 Growth Chains’ (ranked by percentage increase in units) and number three in their list of chains by increase in average unit volume. Troy Aikman, former Dallas Cowboy and Super Bowl MVP, signed on as the chain’s national spokesman in 2003.
