AccuRev, Inc. today announced integration for Crucible, a leading code review tool from Atlassian. With this integration, AccuBridge for Atlassian Crucible, AccuRev users can now launch a Crucible review within the AccuRev Web User Interface, thus leveraging the integrated power of AccuRev and Crucible while optimizing the software development process.
Code review is an important factor in the development process. "Early detection of defects is key to efficient delivery of software, in both reducing the cost of defect removal and reducing rework,” states Thomas Murphy, research director with Gartner. “The code review process is an effective way to capture software defects early in the application lifecycle, and to ensure that developers proactively focus on quality."
AccuBridge for Atlassian Crucible allows for a Crucible code review based on specific files and versions selected by the user, all from within the familiar AccuRev Web User Interface. Benefits of this AccuRev and Crucible integration include:
• Support for workflow, e-mail notifications and initiating reviews within the AccuRev Web User Interface.
• Reduced need to coordinate code review meetings with specific time and place.
