Aware, Inc., a leading provider of DSL test and diagnostics solutions, today announced that its Dr. DSL® Line Diagnostics Platform (LDP) received Frost & Sullivan’s Product Differentiation Excellence of the Year Award for the DSL Test and Measurement Market. Aware’s LDP is an advanced software-based test solution that reduces service provider’s operational expenses and increases revenues by providing the ability to accurately pre-qualify service tiers, rapidly diagnose and resolve customer complaints, and ensure subscriber lines meet performance and stability requirements that are needed for advanced DSL-based services like IPTV.

Aware’s LDP collects standard-compliant chipset-level diagnostics parameters from access devices such as DSLAMs and customer premises equipment. It then uses its advanced interpretation algorithms to convert the raw data into easy-to-understand and actionable results that customer service agents, network operations experts and field technicians can use to rapidly resolve customer complaints. Aware’s LDP also implements dynamic line management (DLM). This technology automatically scans an operator’s DSL network to determine the health of individual DSL lines and then adapts DSLAM service profiles to mitigate disturbances that affect customer service and optimize the stability and performance of each subscriber line. Aware’s LDP supports the recently ratified International Telecommunications Union (ITU) G.996.2 line test standard which defines embedded singed-ended (SELT), dual-ended (DELT) and metallic (MELT) line testing parameters and reference models for DSL networks.
