The survey tracks key remuneration ratios and compares compensation practices in asset management that allows Remuneration Committees and senior managers to gauge whether they are getting good value for their remuneration spend.

It looks like the sector has returned to "business as usual" on employee remuneration at a time when revenues and profits are under increasing pressure. To make matters worse some asset managers are bowing to pressure to "de-leverage" bonus payments for key people - this means increasing salaries at a time when fixed costs need to be controlled even more. The industry is also facing the prospect of further EU regulation on remuneration so there are some challenging issues to be addressed.”
