Open Mind, the specialist distributor of over 10,000 learning resources in all media - has acquired the Ruislip-based learning resources preview centre, Progressive Training Resources (PTR).
The acquisition, initiated at the instigation of PTR and completed for an undisclosed sum, makes Open Mind the UK’s largest distributor of corporate learning resources – now serving some 600 regular customers throughout the UK. These customers are drawn from a wide variety of industries – including retail, pharmaceutical, financial services and manufacturing – as well as a number of organisations in the public sector, from Central Government departments to local councils and key services.
Alun Harvey, managing director of Open Mind, commented: “The acquisition of PTR further cements Open Mind’s position as the first choice for those who want to ensure that they buy the right learning materials for their organisation at the right price.
“Increasingly, hard pressed buyers of learning materials – trainers, HR professionals, finance directors and procurement specialists – are realising the value in consulting experienced distributors of these materials, such as Open Mind. We are usually able to help them obtain better value for their training budgets as well as obtain for them the most suitable learning materials to meet their organisation’s needs.”
