Smith, 47, has served as Intel chief financial officer since 2007, leading the worldwide finance organization. Prior to his current role, Smith was assistant chief financial officer and vice president of finance, spearheading Intel’s efficiency and restructuring efforts. Smith previously served as Intel’s chief information officer and was the general manager of Intel Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), where he was responsible for Intel product sales and marketing in the region. Since joining Intel in 1988, Smith has held various other positions in finance, sales and marketing, and manufacturing in Asia, Latin America and the United States. In addition to serving on the Gevo board, Smith also serves on the board of directors of SpectraWatt. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas.
