Project cargo 3PL specialists, the Project Professionals Group, has continued to build its service capacity across western and central Africa with further representation by Afriglobe Shipping Lines in Nigeria and Ghana.
Afriglobe Shipping Lines is already PPG’s member in Benin, Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
PPG general manager Kevin Stephens said the additional representation in Nigeria and Ghana would ensure the network was in a strong position to contribute to assisting in the delivery of over dimensional plant and equipment for the energy industry and to meet the requirements of new investment in infrastructure such as roads, water facilities, airports, seaports, railways, and telecommunications networks.
“This appointment ensures the PPG network has strong local representation that assists clients to successfully deliver cargos to sometimes very remote and difficult to access locations in a number of African states that others would find almost impossible to do,” Mr Stephens said.
“I also believe PPG’s strategic alliance with the African Cargo and Logistics Alliance underpins to supply chain managers that we are uniquely positioned to meet their transportation needs anywhere in Africa.”
Afriglobe Shipping Lines is also a member of ACLA which is represented in 53 African countries.
Mr Stephens said his network offered a global supply chain management footprint while ACLA, with its headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, was focused on building a continent of Africa membership structure.
The agreement allows ACLA and PPG members to approach each other for assistance, ACLA members in countries where PPG (ppgprojects.com) currently have no representation can join PPG, PPG African members are also invited to join the ACLA network, cross branding and conference networking activities.
