Group Telecom, Rogers Wireless and Expedient All Deploy ANDA EtherTone™ Solutions to Deliver Cost-Effective Next Generation Ethernet Services.
SUPERCOMM - ANDA Networks, the leader in carrier-class solutions for fiber and copper-based access networks, today announced that Group Telecom, a Bell Canada Company, Rogers Wireless (TSX: RCI; NYSE: RG) and Expedient Communications have deployed ANDA EtherTone™ solutions to deliver converged broadband data and voice services over standard Ethernet connections for their customers. By deploying ANDA Network’s carrier-class Ethernet access and aggregation platforms or micro MSPPs, Group Telecom, a Bell Canada Company, Rogers Wireless and Expedient are offering managed Ethernet private line services or in the case of Roger’s Wireless, are using the equipment to effectively backhaul wireless mobile traffic via scalable, low-cost high-speed Ethernet connections.
Through its strong partnerships with Group Telecom, a Bell Canada Company, Rogers Wireless and Expedient, ANDA’s EtherTone platforms have been deployed at carrier points-of-presence (POPs) on revenue generating networks across North America. In meeting the varying connectivity needs of carriers and their large enterprise customers, ANDA’s EtherTone solutions are used to connect locations within the same metropolitan area, provinces or states, or between Canada and the U.S. ANDA’s EtherTone platforms are also useful in providing scalable, on-demand bandwidth for high-capacity wireless backhaul applications. As mobile wireless service providers upgrade their networks to accommodate new enhanced data and video applications such as mobile data, ringtones, music, and video messaging, ANDA’s EtherTone platforms provide a scalable way to meet their wireless customers’ growing needs for bandwidth, coverage and mobility.
"We see a developing market need among service providers for carrier-class Ethernet access products over copper and optical fiber transport that have the reliability and efficiency of low-cost Ethernet, and ANDA's strategy is to meet this need,” said Michael Howard, Principal Analyst and Co-founder of Infonetics Research. “ANDA is extending the concept of multi-service migration out to the customer end-point, enabling the transition of frame relay and ATM to a converged MPLS network."
ANDA’s EtherEdge 4000™ series edge aggregation system and EtherReach 2000™ series platforms give Group Telecom, Rogers Wireless, and Expedient Communications the ability to offer a variety of data and voice services while using a common network infrastructure. By using an Ethernet-based approach, these carriers can deploy with significantly low up-front capital expenditures which provide a Return-On-Investment (ROI) typically within 3-6 months. ANDA’s EtherTone solutions deliver business-grade Ethernet with the reliability of traditional private line and/or SONET infrastructure enabling carriers to offer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) on a per service class basis, all over a single physical Ethernet connection per customer.
“We wanted a scalable and cost-effective way to deliver Ethernet to our customers that typically were not close to or on our fiber network. By using ANDA Networks' EtherTone solutions, we can now deliver Ethernet on-demand based solutions with our new Ethernet Anywhere™ services which could previously only be served via expensive fiber build outs,” said Mark McGinness, Vice President of Business Development at Expedient. “ANDA has created a solution that enables us to economically deliver a service-rich QoS-enabled Ethernet offering with the reliability and performance of traditional private line services.”
“By deploying our solutions across a broad range of major telecommunications companies in North America, ANDA’s SuperComm SuperQuest award-winning EtherTone solutions help carriers realize a rapid return on investment based on customer demand rather than using expensive fiber overbuilds or taking a “build it and they will come strategy”,” said Charles Kenmore, president and CEO of ANDA Networks. “We are excited to be growing our North American footprint and extending ANDA’s market share leading installed base of micro MSPPs worldwide.”
The EtherTone solutions provide cost-effective aggregation switching and cross connect for consolidating Managed Ethernet Private line, Transparent LAN, and SAN connections for business customers requiring a simple Ethernet interface at the customer premise with connection into the Packet Switched Network.
ANDA will highlight its EtherTone solutions at SUPERCOMM 2005 in Chicago on June 6-9, Booth #82037 and ANDA's award-winning new EtherDAX 6000™ will be featured in the 10 Hottest Technologies Pavilion, Booth #82015-T.
