While the majority of nutrition sales belong to Europe, North America and Japan, Latin America owns a respectable part of the nutrition market, representing a growing number that totals more than half a billion dollars annually. To help manage this consistent growth and to help find more business opportunities, Fortitech South America has increased its workforce by hiring Rafael Leite as its newest regional sales manager. Leite, who will focus on all Spanish-speaking countries in South America, holds a degree in food engineering from the Universidade Estadual Paulista, located in São Paulo, Brazil. “Leite has successfully been trained on Fortitech’s stringent Corporate Values Program and his technical knowledge will help the company to continue along with its rapid course of growth,” stated Juarez Rech, director general of Fortitech South America. “South America’s functional food demand is soaring and it was this steady stream of business and opportunity that enabled us to focus on ways to invest in the future – adding sales staff made the most sense.” Also to support the increase in sales throughout the region, Fortitech has hired Érica Spiandore, a native Argentinean to work closely with Leite. Spiandore is fluent in Spanish and has a background in business marketing.
Since Fortitech South America’s inception in 1999, the company has experienced rapid growth in production volumes due to the increase in premix sales. In the last two years, Fortitech South America’s average production increased over 100% and projections through the rest of 2006 show a substantial overall production increase from 2005.
