CD Meyer Inc., a leading New Jersey-based multimedia company, has adapted its point2explore™ touch screen software product line for use in medical waiting rooms, play areas, and office waiting fun zones. This new market for the popular product line is the result of increased interest by doctors looking for fun and educational additions to their waiting room areas.
CD Meyer developed the point2explore, touch screen software product line in 2001. Although the line was initially intended for museum exhibits, many corporations have utilized these customizable games and informational programs in lobbies, trade show exhibits and other office areas. “With recent interest from dentists and doctors, it is a natural for us to provide our software programs for waiting room use,” stated Chris Meyer, president.
The concept of the entire point2explore product line is the fact that the games and programs are easily customizable with regard to the informational content used in the programs. This concept allows CD Meyer to provide high-end, interactive programs at a very affordable price. Games have been customized to educate visitors in subjects such as the Civil War, water fowl, amphibians, local history and even corporate products. Currently point2explore products are being used in over 80 facilities, including museums, science centers, nature centers, and schools, spanning the entire country and in Canada.
Initially, CD Meyer will offer the popular Word Find, Pop Quiz, Pick Quick and Term Viewer on its new site, WaitingRoomGames.com. These games will be populated with educational data based on the medical expertise of the specific facility. Although the content is completely customizable, CD Meyer is developing pre-packaged content for ease of acquisition for dentists, orthodontists, and pediatricians. These packages will be offered loaded onto an affordable touch screen panel PC. As packages are developed they will be added to the Waiting Room website.
In addition to the affordable touch screen Panel PCs, CD Meyer offers several beautifully designed, ADA compliant, kiosk housings that can be produced with the client’s choice of laminate to match existing furniture. The kiosk designs include the Acadia, Samoa, Zion, and Mohave to name a few.
