Bianchi Winery, on the heels of its recently unveiled five-year expansion strategy to launch new brands, secure broader distribution and tasting room traffic, has promoted Beau Bianchi to President of Sales & Marketing. The announcement was made today by Glenn Bianchi, Chairman and CEO of the family owned and operated winery based in the Paso Robles AVA (American Viticulture Area).
“Beau’s vision and follow-through have provided significant positive impact on our operations and sales during the last decade,” said Glenn Bianchi. “As well, his business instincts coupled with his ability to motivate those around him have helped position Bianchi Winery for what we firmly believe will be a period of ongoing, exponential growth.”
Beau, who grew up in the industry, and has been involved in all aspects of the winery’s operations including marketing and harvest chores, most recently served as the winery’s Vice President of Operations. In this role he oversaw such diverse activities as human resource decisions and marketing, including the launch of the winery’s new website, new label development, the addition of tasting room enhancements and off-premise promotions and sponsorships.
With his promotion, Beau will utilize both social and traditional communications strategies as he continues to spearhead the sales and marketing expansion in support of the winery and tasting room. His responsibilities will also include the Bianchi brand of super and ultra premium estate-grown Heritage Selection and sourced Signature Selection varietal wines, as well as the introduction of a new group of branded blended wines which will be announced shortly. Already, Bianchi Winery has experienced first quarter case sales growth of 130% over the same period in 2009 and has selectively been adding new markets and distribution partners across the country.
Remarked Beau Bianchi, “I look forward to having the opportunity to become more personally involved in other aspects of the winery’s day-to-day sales and marketing efforts. It is key to our continued success that we identify and implement new and innovative means to expand the awareness of the Bianchi brand and the quality of our wine portfolio while staying true to the core principles on which my father (Glenn) and grandfather (Joseph) founded our family’s first winery nearly 40 years ago in central California.”
Beau began his career on the commercial property side of the business with Bianchi Winery’s parent company, Modern Development Company. He was responsible for interfacing with city agencies during the building of the winery and its unique tasting room in 2000 as well as with a series of vendors who handled the architectural design and actual building of both facilities.
About Bianchi Winery and Tasting Room
The Bianchi family’s roots in the California wine industry date back to 1974 when Joseph Bianchi and his son, Glenn, invested in a winery and vineyard on the banks of the San Joaquin River in the Central Valley of California. Utilizing the most advanced farming and production technologies, the Bianchi family pioneered its way to producing award-winning wines and quickly grew to become an industry leader.
Looking to advance the family brand to another level in winemaking, Glenn eventually identified Paso Robles as offering terroir that met his specific needs. In 2000, he purchased the 40 acres that would become the home of Bianchi Winery and Tasting Room (bianchiwine.com), the fulfillment of his dream to provide guests with an awe-inspiring sensory experience.
Today the winery’s estate vineyards produce varietal grapes that are best suited for the rolling hills of this micro-climate: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel. The winery also produces popular wines from high quality sourced grapes grown in and around Paso Robles and along the Central Coast. These include a Santa Barbara Chardonnay, Arroyo Grande Pinot Grigio, Santa Maria Pinot Noir, Paso Robles Petite Sirah and embracing the Bianchi’s Italian heritage, a Sangiovese and the uncommon Refosco.
