MetraTech Corp., the innovative charging, billing, settlement and customer care product provider, today announced that it has been selected as a finalist in the Billing & OSS World Excellence Awards 2010 in the categories of Best Customer Experience Improvement and B/OSS Innovator of the Year. The awards recognize excellence in a service provider’s business from vendor-enabled or internal initiatives. This year, the awards were revamped to recognize benefits over technology type and welcomed submissions from across the BSS/OSS spectrum.
For these award entries, MetraTech showcased MeetingZone’s new collaboration portal, which is powered by MetraTech’s unique dynamic billing, charging, settlement and customer care solution, MetraNet. The MeetingZone portal sets the highest industry standards for ease-of-use and self-service functionality, helping to drive the widespread adoption of integrated conferencing and collaboration solutions.
“We wanted to raise the bar in the collaboration marketplace,” said Tim Duffy, CEO, MeetingZone. “But to achieve this, we needed a billing and customer care solution that could adapt perfectly to the new design, processes and workflow that we spent a year developing. MetraNet was the only solution that allowed us the flexibility to adapt billing and customer care to the business, rather than requiring the business to make compromises to accommodate the product.”
“We are pleased to be chosen as a finalist for these two prestigious awards,” said Scott Swartz, CEO of MetraTech. “This recognition continues to underscore the value in our unique dynamic business modeling approach, which enables any number of business models to be supported across any industry providing any type of service. We believe this is the future for billing not only in telecommunications, but across many industries including financial services, high-tech, transportation and so on.”
The Billing & OSS World Excellence Awards 2010 are being judged by an independent panel that includes Ari Banerjee, senior consultant for telecommunications research company Heavy Reading; Susan McNeice, global director for communications infrastructure and OSS/BSS software at Stratecast, a division of Frost & Sullivan; Elisabeth Rainge, program director of network and telecom software research for IDC; and members of the Billing & OSS World editorial team.
The Billing & OSS World Excellence Awards 2010 (billingworld.com) will be presented a ceremony on Wednesday, June 9, at the Billing & OSS World 2010 Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C. Award winners and runners-up will be featured in an upcoming issue of Billing & OSS World magazine and on the companion Website. Nominations were open to participating exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees of the Billing & OSS World 2010 Conference & Expo, June 9-11, in Washington, D.C.
