The AV/IT market is beginning to see digital DVI switches with a greater number of inputs and outputs; Atlona Technologies, a solution based manufacturer of AV/IT connectivity products, has researched the project and built a new line of Professional DVI switchers based on the same technology that all the other Atlona’s Pro switchers (such as RGB and VGA) were built on. Atlona (atlona.com) is soon to release two new switches designed specifically to route DVI signals from multiple sources to a single display. The AT-DVI-41A is a 4 input to 1 output DVI switcher stereo, while the AT-DVI-81A sports 8 inputs to a single output.

Atlona’s AT-DVI-41A and AT-DVI-81A switcher are designed to route up to 4 and 8 DVI sources with audio to a single display, passing high resolutions up to WUXGA (1920x1200) or 1080p with perfect picture quality. Each input is featured with a built-in repeater which will help to keep the integrity of the original signal. Because these units have been made HDCP compliant, HDMI sources can be used with the appropriate DVI/HDMI adapters or cables. With the availability of control through IR remote, RS232 or manually via button selection on the front panel of the switcher, Atlona’s new DVI switchers provide an incredibly flexible and cost effective solution in the market for users routing high definition with audio from up to any 8 DVI sources to a single DVI compatible display/monitor. These units are perfect for Computer retail stores, Computer repair companies, computer and video card manufacturers, as well as conference room applications where multiple DVI sources are required.
