Baby Sherpa®, a leading edge manufacturer of diaper backpacks and child safety harnesses has launched a new strategic partnership with Shopatron to increase e-commerce sales for its network of specialty stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Through the Shopatron platform, Baby Sherpa’s newly updated website captures orders from consumers and directs completed transactions to participating retail partners for fulfillment, thus increasing sales of in-stock merchandise and increasing in-store sales.
For consumers, the Shopatron system offers a convenient, seamless online buying experience. Because a local dealer is fulfilling the order, Shopatron clients can provide in-store pickup for online orders. Utilizing Shopatron’s “Local Search First” option, shoppers can choose between in-store pickup and home shipment during checkout. If choosing in-store pickup, customers are notified within four hours, via email, where and when they can pick up their order.
“Online retail is the fastest growing channel in the juvenile product industry,” noted Heather Campbell-Dewar, CEO and founder of Baby Sherpa. “By aligning with Shopatron, we provide our retailers with the unique opportunity to share in that growth. Orders that originate at babysherpa.com become sales for our retail partners – it’s a win-win situation."
Baby Sherpa achieves two primary objectives with the new program. First, they created a dynamic, consumer-friendly website with an updated look that can be maintained by their current staff. Second, they integrated their 200 plus dealer base into the eCommerce fulfillment process to help these retailers grow sales in a challenging economy.
Retail-integration allows online orders to be fulfilled by local retailers who have the customer’s products in available inventory. At check-out, a consumer can also request in-store pickup if there is an authorized dealer in their area. In-store pickup sends the customer into an authorized retailer to obtain their merchandise, which is more convenient for the shopper and often results in add-on sales for the retailer. Shopatron enables Baby Sherpa to accept consumer orders online and assign each order to a dealer or retailer in the buyer’s region. The Shopatron system guarantees that consumers receive their shipped orders quickly, while generating sales for retailers and creating a wider distribution network for the manufacturers.
“We know that retailers in this industry have suffered during the economic downturn,” says Heather Campbell-Dewar CEO of Baby Sherpa. “We started this project to support our dealers by sending them orders they would otherwise not have access to. We hope that all of our retailers sign on to the new program. With in-store pickup, we hope to drive more foot traffic to our retailers' doors, for increased in-store sales”.
Enrollment in Shopatron’s network is free of charge for retailers and only requires the completion of a few simple steps before a store can begin to service online orders.
Shopatron takes every measure to protect personal information by following stringent payment industry security standards. Convenience, security, service, and authentic products are the hallmarks of the Shopatron customer experience.
