"The High Definition Golf engineers, have created a system that can capture and quantify all aspects of the golf swing dynamically," stated Gawain Robertson (Partner-ACCRA). "The module will measure and quantify the shaft bend, club head speed, hand speed, club head acceleration, position of maximum club head speed, angle of attack and load factors at five different points on the shaft in a multitude of positions in a players swing. This enables us, as a golf shaft company, to implement this information into new designs to strategically develop shafts for all types of swings and club heads," continued Mr. Robertson.
ACCRA is currently using this system in the Kingston Ontario "Test and Development" Center to create an upcoming line of ultimate fitting shafts. "We (ACCRA) have always believed in developing shafts dynamically and fitting every golfer to the perfect shaft/head combination," stated Dave Makarucha (Partner-ACCRA). "The use of the HDG™ simulator and the new shaft flex module, further enhances the clubfitting experience for consumers visiting our fitting center and enables us to collect invaluable data for future use in developing new products." The HDG™ Shaft Flex Module uses advanced computer vision technology to make a comprehensive series of highly accurate shaft measurements in “real-time.” This cost-effective module is easy-to-use and integrates seamlessly into the HDG simulator and provides an extensive series of measurements that were previously unavailable. As a result, ACCRA will be able to quickly test and compare a variety of golf clubs and shafts easily with a new level of precision. The system in turn will generate a detailed report that can be viewed on screen, printed or emailed to the customer for their personal records.
