PPG general manager Kevin Stephens said 111 registrations had been confirmed for the conference including members, sponsors and special guests.
He said a number of new members would be attending their first conference following appointments during the year, including those in the new Project Support Members category.
The PPG conference (ppgprojects.com) is the single most important membership activity for the year and a unique opportunity to mix, network and learn more about new business opportunities and industry trends,” Mr Stephens said.
“The conference also provides facilities and a scheduler to arrange face-to-face meetings that are a very cost effective way to co-ordinate business activities from loading to discharge and transportation to the final destination that may involve three or more PPG members.”
Conference sponsors include the Port of Antwerp, Rickmers-Linie GmbH; Beluga Chartering GmbH; The Port of Corpus Christi Authority; Coli Shipping & Transport N.V (Belgium); Sea-Concert (Thailand); TransProject LLC (USA); Sahil Freight Express (India); Polytra N.V. (Belgium); and Quebec Stevedoring.
Antwerp Hilton in the Groenplaats, in the heart of the old city, is the conference venue.
Meanwhile, freight forwarders reviewing their training needs for the year should consider ‘killing two birds with one stone’ by attending Breakbulk USA and registering for the Certificate of Achievement in Project Cargo Management.
Breakbulk runs in Houston from October 12-14 at the George R. Brown Convention Center with the training course at the same venue from October 14-15.
The training is offered through a joint initiative of the Journal of Commerce Breakbulk Conferences and international overdimensional cargo network the Project Professionals Group.
