Discover Medical Devices – an Israeli medical device startup announced that its novel CPAP mask – the SomnuSeal, had passes a notified body examination and is eligible to receive CE mark class 2.

The SomnuSeal© is the first intra oral self adaptable mask that successfully addresses the non compliant patient problem in OSA patients.

Its concept and designed are totally new and aim to help non compliant OSA patient as well as compliant OSA patient to receive CPAP treatment.

There are 300 million patients in the world that suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Most of them remain undiagnosed.

Only 15 millions of them were diagnosed during the years and only 5 million of them currently receive CPAP therapy. Thus it is evident that the CPAP market biggest problem is non compliant among OSA diagnosed patients.

The major cause for non compliance among these patients is the CPAP mask that facilitates delivery of pressurized air through the nose or the nose and mouth – placed externally to the body.
