As the world economy is stabilizing, COMPUTEX TAIPEI, the world's largest ICT products trade show, is proud to step into its 30th anniversary. Having past three decades, the event is standing firmer with a record-high in the number of exhibition booths at 4,700, a 6% growth than 2009. The COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2010 is reaching out to a new form of our life with innovative applications of multi-touch, 3D displays, cloud computing and more new products, attracting more than 36,000 overseas buyers to witness the unfolding event.
Smiling for a Better Life: Innovate for a New Digital Life
To present the latest trends of ICT products and applications, the organizers expanded the scale of COMPUTREND by 23% with 17 Pavilions and the newly formed Theme Zones, which will cover the basic needs of daily life: food, dress, live, transportation, education, and entertainment. This year, the buyers will be experiencing situational practices of 3D TVs, multi-touch interface, satellite positioning and tracking, home security surveillance system, digital health, and wireless-connected e-readers. One-Stop service for procurement will also be provided in the venue.
e-Reader: The Combined Strength of Real and Virtual Displays
Electronic reading devices are getting so much attention in these years since Kindle, Nook, and e-Reader have successfully swept the market in the U.S. and Europe. In the cross-straits region, many local companies, whether brands or publishers have cooperated to launch reading devices to break into the huge Chinese language market. At COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2010, leading players like Delta Electronics, Netronix, Gemtek, Acer, and Asus are said to showcase their newly developed products.
This year, there will be real and virtual displays designed for visitors to get a comprehensive view of Taiwan's position in e-reading industry. At COMPUTREND, e-Book, e-Reading application Pavilions will present three themes: e-reading supply chain, future classroom, and in-class scenarios. The first-ever World e-Reading Forum will allow visitors to discover the new opportunities and challenges of e-reading. To strengthen the effect of real display, the organizer has established e-Reading microsite which provides detailed information of the e-reading supply chain in Taiwan.
WiMAX: Live Show of Linking Ambulance to Hospital
2010 is the year of WiMAX technology to take off, the exhibitors of WiMAX Taipei will join COMPUTEX to showcase different kinds of designs, customer premise equipments, and solutions, which spread out more than one hundred of booths. These world-renown exhibitors include WiMAX equipment manufacturers and operators: Industrial Technology Research Institute, Acer, Tatung Infocomm, First International Telecom, Global Mobile Corporation, VMAX, Gemtek and so forth.
Along with WiMAX exhibitors, COMPUTEX (computex.biz) will show how the technology is being practiced into real life emergency by simulated scenarios as the integration WiMAX and medical electronics will enable crews to perform urgent treatments on the WiMAX-enabled ambulance, while remote hospitals can receive instant images and give instructions via WiMAX connection.
