MTA VIETNAM will return to Ho Chi Minh City from 6 - 9 July at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), with a stronger and bigger showing for its seventh edition. The exhibition’s show space will see a 20 per cent increase from the year before, and is expected to occupy almost 90 per cent of SECC. Featuring a projected 280 exhibitors from 25 countries/regions, the exhibition will showcase the latest machine tools and solutions available from across the globe.
Visitors to this year’s show will get to see the latest offerings from Italy at the new Italian Pavilion. It is joined by returning international pavilions from Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
MTA VIETNAM’s wide range of exhibits will hail from renowned international brand names from the industry, all who have chosen the exhibition as their main platform not only to showcase their products and solutions, and achieve visibility in the Vietnamese market, but also to network with local and international business leaders and professionals.
These international brands range from manufacturers and providers of sheetmetal-cutting / metalforming machine tools, metalcutting machine tools, testing and measurement systems, cutting tools and tooling systems and accessories. They include: Amada, Bystronic, TRUMPF, Makino, Mazak, Hurco, Yamazen, Chin Fong, Hardinge, Accuway, Tornos, Doosan Infracore, Fair Friend, Litz Hitech, Jainnher, Tatung-Okuma, Blum, Faro, Nikon, Mitutoyo, Renishaw, Optical Gaging, Konica Minolta, Guehring, YG-1, Big Daishowa, OSG, Mastercam and many others.
Vietnam’s economic and industry recovery has driven exhibitors to make a strong return to MTA VIETNAM in 2010. According to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office (GSO), the country’s economy will grow by about six per cent in the first quarter of this year, nearly double the rate for the same quarter of last year. In recent years, Vietnam has become one of the most attractive destinations for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). In 2009, the country saw US$21.48 billion in FDI, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI), with the manufacturing industry being one of the top interests of investors. The industry attracted a capital sum of US$2.97 billion last year.
“Vietnam’s high rate of payout for capital construction largely contributed to the recovery of the country’s economy last year, making it an attractive export destination,” said Mr. William Lim, Project Director for MTA VIETNAM from the show’s organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services. “With outlook looking positive, manufacturers in Vietnam are well-positioned to capitalise on the upturn. MTA VIETNAM2010 plays a key role in supporting the industry’s growth by bringing in the most productive technologies and solutions. As an international, professional business-to-business event, the show will see a large volume of relevant trade buyers from Vietnam and the rest of the world come to the show to network and explore business opportunities.”
Vietnamese government and associations continue their support for the show. These include Ministry of Industry & Trade, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and People’s Committee of HCMC.
Other associations who have endorsed MTA VIETNAM include the Vietnam Automation Association, Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry, Vietnam Electronic Industries Association, Vietnam Steel Association and Vietnam Society of Automotive Engineers.
MTA VIETNAM2009 attracted 7,270 local and overseas visitors to view exhibits showcased by 234 exhibiting companies from 20 countries/regions.
