We are happy to welcome Aftkhar Aslam to yieldWerx as the new Chief Technology Officer. Prior to yieldWerx, Aftkhar played an instrumental role as an IT Director at Texas Instruments and participated in creating JV semiconductor and test & assembly houses to expand Texas Instruments manufacturing, final assembly and test capacity. These included Micron in Italy, TECH Semiconductor in Singapore, Ardentec and Acer in Taiwan, KTI and TI Japan, Amkor, S. Korea and SMIC in China.
Aftkhar directed an enterprise wide program for a multi-billion dollar global semiconductor company to implement multi factory flow for manufacturing and test & assembly. Partial wafer processing and manufacturing was conducted in the US before handing off to Asia PAC (China, Singapore, S. Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines) for final finishing and testing. He was involved in redesigning and developing MES, Automation Control as well as test & assembly systems in all the companies to ensure that there would be continuity of data flow across manufacturing and business systems, exactly how it was implemented in the mother site and that all data was also fed back to the USA for use by design, product and quality engineering groups.
He has also directed a multi-million dollar program for setting up offshore companies for design, development, and R&D of large scale software applications as well as embedded software development in India. The programs included setting up of data share, design & development models, and environments for teams ranging from 20-30 upwards of 300+ software engineers. Environments ranged from a light data share model to a complex and highly secure ‘Embassy’ models where the offshore development company had designated area at their premises to replicate the exact environment as of the parent company. Engagements included setting up of real time data replication, design and development, and testing tools enabling development teams from across the globe to be able to develop and commit their work efficiently. These offshore companies included Wipro, Infosys and MindTree to name a few.
We are excited about the semiconductor experience and depth of industry knowledge he brings with him, which we feel will be instrumental in growing the yieldWerx suite of semiconductor yield and test data analysis solutions in line with our customer expectations.
