FutureDash Corp., an innovative start-up business-to-business (B2B) software company, announces today that GreenDash™, a new software product allowing manufacturers of consumer networking and electronics equipment to quickly and easily add energy monitoring capabilities to their products, will be demonstrated at the CES Show, Las Vegas in the Marvell Plug Computer Pavilion. The demonstration will include interoperability with an actual smart meter, communicating via the ZigBee Smart Energy Profile.
"We are proud to be partnering with Marvell and to demonstrate on their Sheeva™ Plug Computer" said Kevin Strong, CEO. "The Plug Computer provides an ideal, always-on, low cost platform for easy installation of our GreenDash server, in combination creating the heart of a highly flexible energy monitoring system."
The GreenDash server acts as an energy monitoring hub, collecting data in real-time from the smart meter and other compatible smart energy devices around the Home Area Network (HAN), then relaying it in real-time to dashboard clients via the user’s home network or the Internet.
The dashboard clients can be viewed on a web browser or other compatible client hardware such as a smartphone, PDA, notebook, connected TV or set-top box without the need to purchase a new dedicated display device. These personal energy dashboards are simple for the homeowner to use and highly customizable.
By giving users a virtual in-home display (IHD), GreenDash homeowners tap into the Smart Grid to monitor and manage their current electricity consumption in real-time and to view their historical usage - at home, away or abroad - on an easily understood, dashboard-style graphical user interface (GUI).
Hardware OEMs and manufacturers of consumer electronics, networking and broadband residential gateway devices can easily bundle GreenDash server software capabilities onto their current or planned product lines to quickly add energy monitoring capabilities without the overhead of in-house software development. In addition to the Plug Computer, compatible server devices include routers, gateways, network attached storage (NAS), media servers, IPTVs and set-top boxes.
The demonstration of GreenDash will be at the Marvell PlugComputing.org Pavilion (South Hall 3 Upper Level, Booth #30344) at 3pm on Thursday 7th January.
