Alphalogix, provider of Tasica Business Process Automation Solutions, announced today their honor of being named a finalist for IBM’s Best Portal Solution or IBM Mashup Center Solution Lotus Award. The award was given to Alphalogix for their implementation of IBM WebSphere Portal and Alphalogix’s Tasica Business Process Automation Solution for a global manufacturer and retailer of high-end watches and watch technology.

Alphalogix’s implementation for their customer consisted of an upgrade of an IBM WebSphere Portal environment integrating IBM Lotus Forms, Tasica Forms Director and Tasica Dynamic Reports for electronic forms routing with human-centric workflow and data-centric, real time reporting. With a new strategy to move their operations to a PC, web-based foundation, the customer chose Tasica solutions to create applications for their portal environment. With this solution, the customer replaced paper-based forms and static data with electronic forms and business logic based workflow. While focusing on an application for their Accounting department that has saved over $30,000 in the last 6 months, the customer now has the ability to continue to proliferate their WebSphere Portal with self-service applications to automate their internal processes for improved communication and efficiency. With Tasica and Lotus solutions, they will be able to enhance any and all areas of their operations including their supply chain management, customer relations, and distribution channels as well as other internal departments like Human Resources, Sales and Marketing.
Additionally, the customer will be able to benefit from the SOA and Web 2.0 foundation of both WebSphere Portal and Tasica Business Process Automation Solutions. In their applications, the customer can receive update information in real-time with out server roundtrips decreasing processing time as well as increasing response time to any issues they may run into. The customer can also create applications that pull dynamic information from any web service to enhance the efficiency of their daily processes.
The other IBM Business Partners awarded in the Best Portal Category are Perficient as a finalist and Gemini Systems, LLC as the winner. Perficient is also a Tasica Business Partner.
Alphalogix and Tasica Business Process Automation Solutions have been named winner of the Best Portal Lotus Award in 2004, 2008 and won Best in Showcase at Lotusphere in 2008. In 2009, Alphalogix was a finalist for the Lotus Energy and Environment Award.
