Dallas, TX, United States, 2009/12/10 - Jackson Walker, LLP announces that Gary D. Compton has joined the firm’s Austin office as a partner in its Environmental & Legislative group.

Mr. Compton has more than 30 years of experience representing major utilities, pipelines, oil and gas producers and alternative and renewable energy companies. His experience includes administrative and regulatory matters as well as government affairs.
Mr. Compton has practiced before the U.S. Congress, the White House, the Texas Legislature, Texas Railroad Commission, Texas Public Utility Commission, Texas General Land Office, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, Department of Interior and various other regulatory agencies and state legislatures throughout the Southwest.
Mr. Compton served on the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission under three Texas governors. He also serves in a number of roles for the Texas Railroad Commission including Special Counsel, Special Advisory Counsel to the Blue Ribbon Natural Gas Rules Committee and Special General Counsel to the Railroad Commission Chairman’s Committee on Natural Gas Marketing.
Mr. Compton is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association. He received his J.D. from Baylor University Law School.
