Stock & Option Solutions (SOS), a leading provider of stock plan management, administration and consulting services, today announced that Elizabeth Dodge, CEP, and Laura Reis, CEP, will present at the Certified Equity Professional Institute’s (CEPI) annual symposium on December 8th, 2009 in Santa Clara, California.
The one-day symposium comprises twelve sessions focusing on various aspects of equity compensation with topics including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), global grant practices, ESPP, and the future of equity compensation. This is the 6th such event held by the CEPI, which is part of Santa Clara University’s Executive Development Center, and whose mission is to establish, promote, and provide certification and continuing education for the equity compensation industry.
Elizabeth Dodge, the VP of Product Management at SOS, will join a panel which will include Hal Lorton, of Fidelity, Rachel Murillo, from the NASPP, and Kimberly Hackman, of Starbucks to present, “Not Your Grandmother’s Stock Plan Administration Anymore”, in which they’ll propose small changes to plan design and administration practices which can ease administration, reduce costs and improve participant satisfaction. All the presenters hold their CEP designation.
Laura Reis, CEP, the Director of Data Solutions at SOS, is a panelist for “The Urge to Merge: Surviving and Thriving M&As in Stock Plans”. This session will focus on the impact and ramifications that the pending and continual wave of mergers and acquisitions will have for those who are managing the stock plans at these affected companies. Also on this panel will be Renee Deming of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, Ellie Kehmeier of Deloitte Tax LLP, and Jon Burg of Radford Consulting.
The Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation is the equity compensation’s industry educational standard. The designation is granted to individuals who have passed all three CEP exams, and have demonstrated mastery of equity compensation related issues in all of the core disciplines (Accounting; Equity Plan Design, Analysis and Administration; Corporate and Securities Law; and Taxation). SOS has a high percentage of such designees among its employees.
This will be the fourth consecutive year that SOS will speak at this event, and the opportunity to present and exchange ideas with an audience filled with highly-regarded industry professionals is something that the company values highly.
”We really appreciate the opportunity to present at the CEP Symposium. It’s a great, well-attended event that not only provides useful content but also gives the attendees the opportunity to network with their peers. And our topics this year are particularly relevant to our current economic environment” say Elizabeth Dodge.
