Asteris, a technology service company working with image storage and customer software needs, launches its private label direct radiography (DR) system to meet veterinarians’ fragmented and growing Information Technology needs.
At the request of recognized veterinarian, Dr. Mark Baus, Asteris founders Jeff Brokalis, CVT and Jason Otis took the lead and teamed up with two other well-established companies, Business Infusions and Vetel Diagnostics, to put together a total digital radiography system solution. Brokalis explains, “In order to alleviate the IT problems that more and more veterinarians face as they modernize their practices, we felt we needed to put all of the components of running a veterinarian practice into one system. Now you can shoot your X-ray, send it to your radiologist, securely archive the image offsite, and bill out the client from the same system - it just made logical sense.”
Issues such as lost images, software malfunctions, complicated data management and retrieval, outside technical support, and outdated hardware are causing veterinarians to think twice about their investment. This private label system offers all the components of X-ray image acquisition, image archiving and retrieval, diagnosis, reporting, teleradiology, and practice management software in one compatible and portable system.
This all-in-one system includes the Asteris Keystone software that will securely transfer lossless images in half the size to colleagues anywhere in the world. It comes installed with Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), practice management software, a 17” monitor with a 10” monitor pull out extension, and a RAID 1 hard drive configuration for data redundancy. The DR system is currently compatible with Canon panels; others will be offered in the future. Images can be shared with radiologists worldwide. The software supports all current DICOM veterinary standards and interfaces with a wide variety of other DICOM and non-DICOM modalities.
This new DR system is available only through Asteris®, developers of the well-known software programs MDS and Keystone, used for X-ray image and data archiving. They are headquartered in Monument, CO and can be reached at 877-727-8374.
Business Infusions®, developer of practice management software for the veterinary industry, has been in business since 2006 and is the creator of the well known HVMS software programs. They are headquartered in Canada and can be reached at 1-877-207-3335.
