Today, Albin Engineering Services, a leader in technology solutions, recruiting & staffing, announced its new Management Consulting Services offering with an experienced team of proven Silicon Valley technology leaders including Juan A. Benitez, a former U.S. Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce, Tâm Nguyen, Ph.D., a software architect and an engineering leader, and Ron Lichty, with experience in managing product development for over 20 years at Apple Computer, Berkeley Systems, Fujitsu, mFactory, Charles Schwab, Macromedia, Avenue A | Razorfish, Forensic Logic, Socialtext and Check Point. Albin Engineering's new Management Consulting Services group will provide short-term and ongoing management consulting and board counseling to companies including early stage start-ups as well as later stage or more mature firms and public companies, covering all functions of corporate operations.

Benitez, who has over thirty-six years of senior managerial and business experience in several industry sectors, including high technology, capital equipment and life sciences. Earlier in his career Mr. Benitez held engineering and managerial positions with General Motors, Johnson & Johnson and Mostek. Mr. Benitez was the Vice-President of Operations for Micron Technology, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange semiconductor company, where he was responsible for developing and executing the company's operating plans from start-up and through its initial public offering. He was then appointed President, Chief Operating Officer and Director and served in this capacity until his retirement to pursue public service. Mr. Benitez also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary and Deputy Undersecretary of Commerce in the United States government, as a political appointee, managing international trade and domestic investment and technology policies and programs, as well as international bilateral and multilateral agreements and business development. Mr. Benitez has also served on corporate boards of private and public companies, and has been a management consultant to domestic and international technology companies.
Tâm Nguyen, Ph.D., is a software architect and an engineering leader with over 15 years of experience in team leadership and project management. He has held senior technical and management positions at IBM and various startups, including Director of Engineering at ReplayTV and eGain Communications, and Chief Architect at LogLogic. He is experienced in facilitating cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to meet business objectives in dynamic environments. He has been the co-chair of SDForum's Engineering Leadership SIG since 2005.
Ron Lichty's career has spanned system software, entertainment, shrinkwrap products, ecommerce, interface development, embedded devices, professional services and IT. He directed development of the Macintosh desktop at Apple Computer, screen savers at Berkeley Systems, and online animated virtual worlds at Fujitsu. As a programmer, he coded compiler code generators, won patents for compression and security algorithms, wrote two widely used programming texts, and developed the computer animation demo that Apple used to launch and sell a next-generation line of PCs.
