Washington, DC, United States, 2009/10/30 - SGIS, a national government contracting company, today announced that Susan Parr has been named as a finalist for the 6th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. Parr was named a finalist in the Employee of the Year category.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.
With over six years in the Government Contracting and Telecommunications industries, Parr is a Business Analyst with SGIS. In this role, she focuses on the operations of one of four SGIS business units, assists with managing the contract pipeline and ensures the company is pursuing task order opportunities on current contract vehicles. Parr previously served as a Government Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC)/ Proposal Coordinator. In this role, she was responsible for various proposal, contract and pricing duties. Parr is based from the SGIS Washington D.C. metro area office.
In the four years she has been with SGIS, Parr has become an integral part of the company. When she first joined the company, she started as an administrative assistant, but her responsibilities within SGIS quickly grew. Parr has served in many roles throughout the years, each demonstrating the company’s growing trust in her as an employee. These roles include Proposal Coordinator, Human Resource Coordinator and most recently, Business Analyst. Her dedication to SGIS is instrumental in the company’s success. Parr’s hard work helps to give SGIS an edge when competing for government contracts.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on Friday, November 13. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend. The presentations will be broadcast live on radio in the U.S.A. by the Business TalkRadio Network.
More than 1,100 entries were submitted this year for consideration in 54 categories. A board of distinguished judges and advisors, featuring many of leading figures in American business, agreed that Parr’s nomination was worthy of national recognition.
