Reflections, the largest speciality print finisher in the south of England, has announced the release of Optix, a print based product that provides a new and innovative three-dimensional optical illusion. The technology was originally developed in America, but after a recent deal with the patent holder, Reflections are proud to announce they have exclusive rights to develop and produce Optix in UK and Europe.
Luke Hastings, Joint Managing Director of Reflections, said: “Optix takes the concept of 3D technology to a completely new level. It really is something for print buyers and graphic designers to get excited about. Optix creates unbelievable depth and the illusion of an image in suspended animation. The effect is so captivating that anybody who sees it is completely fascinated and compelled to try and look behind the sheet, and even attempt to put their hand inside the print!”

Optix has already been said to offer a significant improvement on lenticular printing, which has a reputation for being difficult and time consuming to produce. Lenticular has many limitations and struggles in particular with achieving perfect focus, whereas Optix can be applied in “spot” locations, leaving the main subject, such as a product or company logo, in perfect focus.
