The trends for consumer electronic devices are miniaturization, light-weighted and hi-speed nowadays. ChipSiP Technology Co., Ltd, turkey MCP and SiP ODM leader, announced today CT83 series product, DDR2 SDRAM x 32-bit by stack technology. Its maximum capacity can reach up to 4Gb (gigabits) and the high data transfer speed with 32-bit which is the first product that can offer space saving and speed up the running of DSC, DSLR, notebook and netbook.
CT83 series is a Multi Chip Package Memory (MCP) that integrated DDR2 SDRAM by advanced SiP (System-in-a-Package) technology. The capacity is available from 1Gbit (512Mbx2), 2Gbits (1Gbx2) to 4Gbits (1Gbx4). It runs at 667MHz clock speed and operating voltage is at 1.8V. CT83 can reduce PCB size on the system board.
“The feature of 32-bit is specifically applied to DSC, DSLR, notebook and netbook.” said Wang, Cing-Shan, President of ChipSiP Technology Co., Ltd, “Especially, there is good prospect in DSLR cameras and demand keeps rising up 10 percent every year. CT83 MCP enables 10 megapixel above DSC to have better performance at continuous shooting function. Furthermore, netbook is the hit product in this year; DDR2 SDRM stack solution can replace on board DRAM as well as expanded SO-DIMM memory chips. It benefits rapid performance upgrade and effective space reduction in featherweight, simultaneously” (CT83 is 10g lighter than SO-DIMM with socket).
CT83 is sampling to Japanese customers apply to slot machine and high speed camera and scheduled for volume shipment in September. ChipSiP (chipsip.com) will launch DDR3 stack product in the second quarter of 2010.
