Hardnox currently has two models of the popular DoorJak cart. The full-featured, heavy duty DoorJak 100 is rated to handle doors up to 750 lbs. and is equipped with fine adjustment controls such as separate right and left height adjusters, a hand dial to adjust the door in and out of true plumb and a side shifter to adjust the door left or right. The sturdy and portable DoorJak 50 can handle doors and wall panels up to 250 lbs. Both models come with locking swivel casters and a single release pin to move the unit from transport mode to installation mode. It is a rugged tool, rated to handle steel, fire rated, solid core, and commercial grade doors. The DoorJak™ can handle whatever you throw at it.
"The DoorJak™ was created as a result of years of back breaking work trying to haul and schlep doors around large facilities," said Jim Echternacht, General Contractor, Owner/Inventor of The DoorJak™," only to get to the door jamb itself and need 2 more workers just to install the darn thing. I got fed up with wasting precious time and energy hanging one door, only to look over and see that we still had 50+ more to install." After extensive research and development Mr. Echternacht created The DoorJak™. ”No more strained backs and crushed fingers."
"The DoorJak™ should be in the hands of every tradesman who works on doors. It is reliable, easy to use, and greatly reduces lower back and shoulder strain," said Ian Echternacht, Hardnox LLC National Marketing and Sales Director. "The DoorJak™will do very well in the hands of our nation’s workforce; it significantly reduces the risk of job site injury and potentially cut the costs of worker’s compensation while helping to satisfy OSHA federal regulations for lifting in the workplace."
What our customers are saying:
“Our maintenance crews are always repairing and painting the ER, OR and high traffic doors throughout our facility. The DoorJak is in use by our lock, paint and carpenters shop. We had cuts in our department, the DoorJak is helping fill that void and it never takes a coffee break! Thanks for a tool that delivers. Worth every penny.” - H. Gregorio, Maintenance Foreman, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Santa Barbara, Ca
“A very useful and valuable tool for my trade as a locksmith. I have been removing and installing doors by myself using the DoorJak, which I have never been able to do before (by myself). It actually saves us time and manpower. It is easy to set up, no lifting involved, and is easy to wheel around. The DoorJak is a “must have” for building contractors, facility maintenance, carpenters, and locksmiths.” - John T. Moore, Maintenance & Repair Supervisor, V.A. Medical Center, San Diego, CA
“I’ve been hanging doors for years, usually with the help of another member of my crew. With the DoorJak, it’s like I have gained an extra set of hands. The smooth controls allow me to get the door into the jamb and the sturdy base keeps it aligned while I hang it.” - Roger German, Master Carpenter, Silver Hammer Construction, Lincoln, NE
About Hardnox, LLC
Hardnox, LLC (hardnoxllc.com) was started in 1997 when Mr. Echternacht, a general contractor in Santa Barbara, California, found himself and his crews struggling with heavy and oversized doors they were asked to install. He knew there had to be a better way - thus the idea for the DoorJak was born. After months of engineering, testing and prototyping, the DoorJak 100 was ready for the market. Hospital facility managers found the product an absolute necessity and word soon spread. Hardnox LLC, knowing they had a great product, set up production in Jim's home state of Nebraska and began taking orders. As demand for the DoorJak grew, Hardnox saw a need for a more portable unit to be used for residential and light commercial/industrial door installers. The DoorJak 50 was launched and immediately made an impact on the industry. The company is located at 1721 Santa Barbara St., Santa Barbara, CA 93101.
