ISACA, a global association serving 86,000 IT governance, assurance and security professionals, has signed a license agreement with Microsoft Corp., enabling the company to use content from COBIT and Val IT, ISACA’s internationally accepted frameworks for achieving governance over and value from IT.
The content appears in a new Microsoft Corp. publication titled MOF to COBIT/Val IT Comparison and Cross-Implementation Guide: How to Leverage MOF in a COBIT/Val IT Environment, which is now available as a free download at Microsoft website with tab datagovernance. Additional Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) Framework Comparison Guides are available at Microsoft website with MOF tab.
“As a result of Microsoft’s licensing agreement with ISACA, enterprises can now leverage a significant number of tools and guidance documents that Microsoft makes available at no cost. These tools are based on the Microsoft Operations Framework 4.0, and help enterprises achieve the governance, risk and compliance objectives defined within the COBIT 4.1 and Val IT 2.0 frameworks,” said Javier Salido, senior program manager responsible for the Data Governance initiative at Microsoft Corp.
COBIT, which helps executives and IT professionals direct their IT for optimal advantage, reduce IT-related risks and increase confidence in the information provided by IT, and Val IT, a tool set for unlocking the value of IT and managing IT-enabled business change, are available as free downloads at ISACA website.
“Strong governance over IT and IT-related investments is critical to an enterprise’s success, especially in this challenging economy,” said Lynn Lawton, international president of ISACA. “This license agreement with Microsoft is designed to benefit businesses worldwide and help MOF users realize maximum business value from their IT objectives with COBIT and Val IT.”
