The latest CPU contains 33 new security vulnerability fixes, of which 4 vulnerabilities were reported to Oracle by Team SHATTER, Application Security, Inc.'s leading global database security research team.
With a cross-vendor knowledgebase of more than 2,000 database-specific vulnerabilities, assessment checks and monitoring rules for security configuration, Team SHATTER maintains the industry's largest collection of known database vulnerabilities. In 2009, Oracle has included fixes for 9 vulnerabilities reported by Team SHATTER. In 2008, Oracle fixed 16 database vulnerabilities and IBM fixed 18 vulnerabilities reported by Team SHATTER. In addition, this quarter's CPU represents the ninth consecutive time that Oracle has recognized a security researcher from Application Security Inc.'s Team SHATTER for assisting Oracle with uncovering vulnerabilities.
