KeyRelevance, a leading search engine marketing firm in Dallas, Texas, will be discussing strategies for keyword research and link building in two of Search Marketing Expo's upcoming conferences. President Christine Churchill will participate in three panels at SMX London on May 18-19. Two weeks later, on June 2, she and Director of Optimization Strategies Chris "Silver" Smith will each participate in a panel at SMX Advanced in Seattle, Washington.
SMX London, which runs May 18-19, gives online marketers an opportunity to discuss the tactics and best practices of SEO and PPC. Churchill, whose expertise includes search engine optimization, keyword research and paid search, will contribute to three sessions:
• Analyzing & Converting Organic Search Traffic, 2:45-4pm 18 May;
• Blow Your Mind Link Building Techniques, 9:00-10:15am 19 May;
• Advanced Keyword Research Tactics, 3:00-4:15pm 19 May;
Churchill serves as moderator on the Blow Your Mind Link Building Techniques session, where experts discuss strategies for getting high-value links from non-traditional sources, such as nonprofit, government, and university sites. Churchill will also lead discussions on the Analyzing & Converting Organic Search Traffic panel which examines the insights you can get from visitors who found your site through organic search results. She'll also be speaking in the Advanced Keyword Research Tactics session, offering advice on discovering keywords and phrases that marketers can employ to obtain more traffic and greater conversion rates.
"Online marketing is constantly evolving, but one thing that remains consistent is that keywords are still the bedrock of search marketing," Churchill says. "Despite the growth of online video and image sharing sites, we still live in a text-based world. You still type words into a search box at YouTube. Keyword research remains an extremely important step in all marketing online."
On June 2-3, Search Marketing Expo will host its SMX Advanced conference in Seattle. Billed as "the one show designed for experienced SEMs to exchange ideas, influence the industry and build their networks," SMX Advanced features programming tailored to search marketing veterans. This time, Churchill will be joined by KeyRelevance's Chris Silver Smith. Each will participate in one of the sessions scheduled for Tuesday, June 2:
• Keyword Research Artistry, 9:00-10:15am
• Beyond the Usual Link Building, 3:30-4:45pm
The Keyword Research Artistry session is intended to offer advice on keyword discovery tactics. Churchill will be discussing advanced refinement techniques, information sources, and cutting-edge tools. She will also touch on some of the newer reference sources, such as "folksonomic data mining", social media data sources, and analytic data sources.
Smith will speak in the Beyond the Usual Link Building session. Rather than discuss the obvious link building strategies, this session goes "off the beaten path" and delves into linking opportunities that are frequently overlooked. Smith will be focusing on proven techniques that are both effective and ethical.
"While other individuals in search marketing have engaged in shortcuts and black-hat methods that have resulted in getting their client sites banned by Google," Smith explains, "I prefer to employ advanced methods that continue to function advantageously without incurring search engineer disapproval. I will be presenting techniques that demonstrate how careful technical development can encourage viral linking behaviors."
