Aurigo Software Technologies Inc, a Microsoft Gold certified partner and leading software products and solutions provider in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) vertical, today announced the availability of ‘BRIX 2009’. The latest version of Aurigo’s construction management and inspection system, BRIX 2009, is an Industry add-on to Microsoft Dynamics AX and the combined solution is a powerful Industry ready ERP for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industries worldwide. The previous version - BRIX 5.0 received an overwhelming response in India after it was launched in June 2008.
BRIX 2009 is a vast improvement over BRIX 5.0 as it ships with a very intuitive and rich user interface in addition to having a completely configurable web based dashboard. Aurigo, has gone one step further now by shipping the product with a “configure it yourself” toolkit, that further brings down the cost of implementation, allowing enterprises to easily build their own forms, reports and workflow approvals without depending on expensive IT consulting. The new BRIX dashboard allows enterprise users to set up user-defined dashboards of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by connecting to external web parts, news feeds and even cubes that ship readily with Microsoft Dynamics AX. The new version also comes with enhanced capabilities in the land and facilities management modules.
Balaji Sreenivasan, founder and CEO of Aurigo Software Technologies Inc said, “In our latest release BRIX 2009, we have taken our customers’ inputs from around the world very seriously and worked on enhancing the user interface with a focus on making the dashboards, forms, reports and workflow approvals user configurable and reducing the cost of deployment significantly. We believe that existing Architecture, Engineering and Construction companies wanting to upgrade to the upcoming version of Microsoft Dynamics AX, will immensely benefit by choosing BRIX 2009. With BRIX 2009 they will not only reduce their time to deploy but also cut back significantly on the customization costs. In a tough market like today, the “configure it yourself” toolkit will be a welcome relief to CIOs who are looking to implement ERP solutions with a reduced IT budget. Our solution is targeted at Project Owners, Real Estate Developers, Government Agencies, Project management companies, Architecture & Interior Design Firms and General Contractors. Using our system, they can manage a variety of construction related activity including infrastructure development, Roads and Highways, Airports, real estate, ship building and even power plants.

Mayank Goyal, Director, RDS Project Ltd, said, “Our operations being project centric and geographically widespread, lack of complete project information and standardization of systems and controls were inhibiting our growth forward. We were looking for an integrated solution which placed minimal burden on the IT department. We did evaluate several stand-alone applications, however, the Aurigo BRIX and Microsoft Dynamics AX integrated offering delivered a rare combination of a world-class ERP with a construction management module. Although there were some major changes with the workflows to match and mirror our exact processes, we felt comfortable with the product overall and were convinced that the Aurigo’s team would be a good ERP vendor/partner. At present, we are still in the implementation phase and are looking forward to it bringing the desired results.”
Mr. R. Kumar, Managing Director, Navin Housing, a leading housing company in Chennai said, “We are very excited at this partnership with Aurigo as they completely understand the dynamics of the construction industry and are thus able to address those needs effectively.” Adding further Mr. Kumar said “When fully implemented, Aurigo's solution will enable us to integrate our entire construction management processes from estimation, to project planning, sales and marketing efforts, streamline budgeting and all aspects of facility management. Managing costs, time and marketing objectives are key to success and we believe we are well prepared to have tighter control over our operations and costs now.”
On the latest trends of Construction Industry, Prof. Vijaya Desai who oversees IT strategy at NICMAR (National Institute of Construction Management & Research) said “Companies are looking for software solutions that cater the complexity in managing multiple projects across multiple locations. companies are looking for software as enabling tools to reduce project-cycle time and avoiding cost overruns. The government, public sector units and the private sector are spending heavily on enterprise application software for tracking expenditure incurred on infrastructure projects across sectors such as power, highways, shipping, railways and telecom. Through our established working relationship with Aurigo, we have helped introduce functionalities in BRIX 2009 that will address the challenges faced by construction management firms in India very effectively.”
