Following testing, a major telecommunication firm has approved PaceControls heating and cooling energy efficiency retrofits for nationwide installations in a wide variety of facilities.
Telecommunications and data companies have demanding heating and cooling needs, given their long hours of operation and their need to site facilities in all climates – and particularly given the large amounts of heat that can be generated by electronic equipment. EPA studies of energy efficiency in data centers have shown that cooling and power conversion equipment can account for about 50% of the center’s electric power consumption.
PaceControls’ ESCO partner GreenLight Energy Services, which has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, worked with the telecommunications company in its testing. “This is another validation of our proven ability to deliver significant energy savings while maintaining heating and cooling equipment performance, via our patented technology”, said Tom Mills, president of PaceControls. “We look forward to working with GreenLight in many other data center programs.”
