Fuller Landau LLP, a leading mid-market accounting and business consultancy firm has been ranked 37 on the Best Workplaces in Canada list compiled by the Great Place to Work® Institute of Canada. This win represents a “hat trick” for the firm, having been included in all three major workplace award listings in Canada for 2009.
“We put a lot of organizational focus on making Fuller Landau a great place to come to work each day,” says Michael Epstein, managing partner at Fuller Landau. “We recognize the importance of our team is our most and we continually strive to find ways to ensure we are attracting, retaining and promoting the best people.”
While Fuller Landau has a comprehensive list of innovative workplace programs, it’s the combination of these programs and the support from the leadership team that drives the culture within the firm. Through diversity initiatives, education and professional development, access to the firm’s senior leaders and a commitment to environmental standards, Fuller Landau has created a culture that fosters growth for all team members.
The Best Workplaces in Canada list is based on two criteria:
• two-thirds of the total score comes from a survey completed by at least 85% of employees;
• the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures.
This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
“Being included as one of the best places to work in Canada is meaningful because it is based on feedback from our people,” says Jennifer King, director of Human Resources at Fuller Landau. “It speaks to our on-going commitment to creating a dynamic workplace culture.”
The complete list and related stories was published in the Globe and Mail on April 6, 2009.
