About EMC Physical Security Solution
The EMC Physical Security Solution (emc.com) integrates physical security information from a wide range of data sources and helps automate the analysis and management of information. Customers in retail, financial services, gaming, transportation, seaports/airports, correctional facilities, government, education, critical infrastructure, and border control with heightened requirements for video surveillance rely on the EMC Physical Security Solution for real-time access to critical information, enabling them to proactively protect critical assets.
EMC CLARiiON® storage is integral to the EMC Physical Security Solution, providing the scalability and availability required for critical video surveillance applications to collect, analyze, archive, and manage more video streams. Additionally, EMC CLARiiON MirrorView™, which is an application that provides back-up, disaster recovery, and site failover for video surveillance, provides full-time back-up and recovery capability.
The EMC Physical Security Solution also offers content management integration through an adapter with EMC Documentum®, helping customers associate any number of file types to their video surveillance data. This enables a more integrated repository for search, investigation, and reporting to address their compliance and legal needs.
Additionally, EMC offers a range of professional services to complement the EMC Physical Security Solution. The EMC Assessment for Physical Security provides an analysis of customers' current physical security infrastructures and makes detailed recommendations for improvements. The consultative service takes into account not only the physical security aspects of the customer environment, but also the logical security implementation. Once the customer environment is in operating, the EMC Residency for Physical Security can provide support services centered on operating the new security system.
"With our physical security solution, we add significant value to our customers from a business, operations, and safety standpoint, ensuring their operations are scalable, and run more securely and efficiently," says Bob Clouse, Senior Director of EMC Global Emerging Solutions.
In addition to its own research and development, EMC is also collaborating with several leading IP surveillance software providers such as Verint, Cisco and Nice. Together EMC and their IP surveillance partners provide an end-to-end solution to accelerate the deployment of robust, scalable video security solutions.
