Fiberlink Communications Corporation, the trusted provider of “mobility as a service” solutions that simplify mobile operations management, today announced it was selected as a 2009 CODiE Award finalist. Established in 1986 by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), the CODiE Awards program is designed to showcase the software industry’s finest products and services and honor excellence in corporate and philanthropic achievement.
“Fiberlink is proud to be recognized by our peers alongside some of the finest software companies in the industry,” said Christopher Clark, chief operating officer of Fiberlink. “Today’s IT leaders are being challenged to rewrite the rules for architecting a secure and productive mobile workforce. They are in the difficult position of having to manage a new generation of mobile devices, increases in storage capacity, open access points, and very different user expectations, all while cutting costs and doing more with less. Fiberlink’s MaaS360 solution offers the tools, techniques, models and mindsets that IT administrators need to succeed in this uncharted territory.”
The CODiE Awards are judged in three rounds. The first includes representatives from the software and information industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, analysts, consultants and subject-matter experts. Fiberlink was selected by this group of industry professionals as a finalist in the “Best Mobile Solution” category. The second and third round of voting involves participation by SIIA members, which is why the CODiE award is considered a peer-recognition award.
According to SIIA President Ken Wasch, "The competition is particularly steep this year during the 24th Annual SIIA CODiE Awards, making selection as a CODiE Finalist a real achievement." Wasch further added that "All the companies on this year's list of CODiE Finalists should feel justifiably proud of their accomplishment in making it to this stage, and have much excitement to look forward to regarding the upcoming CODiE Awards voting!"
Fiberlink’s mobility as a service solution, MaaS360, is a cloud-based platform and portal that provides enterprises with a single, cost-effective way to manage all of the elements of a growing mobile workforce, regardless of where users, devices or data are located or connected. MaaS360 allows enterprises to make mobility the new base case for systems management and security by moving IT management and control out from behind the corporate firewall and extending the perimeter across the Internet where the majority of users are today. This Software as a Service (SaaS) approach lowers cost by eliminating upfront capital investments and on-going maintenance costs of mobile infrastructure and speeds time-to-value by turning complex mobile deployments into cloud-provided services.
The 2009 CODiE Awards will be presented at a gala event on May 5 at the historic Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
