The tedious task of creating Crystal Reports documentation just got easier with the latest offerings from the Retsel Group. The recently released Report Miner Suite version 4 is a unique product that allows developers and users of Crystal Reports to automatically generate report documentation for their Crystal Reports files. In addition, developers and users of Crystal Reports can do a direct, side-by-side comparison of two different Crystal Reports files using the RptDiff function within the Report Miner Suite v4. This handy utility shows all differences between two different reports, or two versions of the same report, saving developers hours of frustrating work.
Report Miner Suite v4 builds on the already extensive functionality of previous versions by allowing users to generate report documentation in Microsoft Word, plain text, or Microsoft Access formats. New to this release is the ability to specify existing Microsoft Word templates when generating Word documents for Crystal Reports files. This enhancement allows users to generate Word documents that automatically conform to their existing document formats. This can include title pages, custom headers and footers, company logos, as well as table styles and formats.
Report Miner Suite v4 is also the strongest product available for performing cross-report analyses. As users employ the Report Miner Suite for their documentation purposes, Report Miner stores all available report information in an efficient relational model in a Microsoft Access database. Unlike their competitors, Report Miner does not encrypt the database or restrict users to certain pre-defined queries. Instead, the Retsel Group allows users full access to their database and even provides sample reports and queries. Utilizing the database, users can quickly and easily create custom queries and reports to gather cross-report statistical information.
