A new version of “Endura Mobile Dialer” has been released by Ascent Telecom. The new version is “Endura Mobile Softphone S.2.0”. This new version now supports G.729b and AMR codecs. And addition to which Endura Mobile now also supports DTMF.
G.729 is an audio data compression algorithm for voice that compresses voice audio in packets of 10 milliseconds duration. G.729b codec make sure that the voice calls are traversed consuming very low bandwidth. Because of low bandwidth consumption, the Endura Mobile Softphone now provides good voice quality through low bandwidth GPRS connections.
Both G.729 and AMR codec make sure that Endura Mobile Softphone is 3G ready. 3G is the third generation of tele-standards and technology for mobile networking, superseding 2.5G. It is based on the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) family of standards. 3G networks enable network operators to offer users a wider range of more advanced services while achieving greater network capacity through improved spectral efficiency.
Endura Mobile Softphone uses SIP protocol and is supported to run on following Nokia models successfully:
